COUNTRY WALKING "BEST in TEST"

These Meindl boots fall into the stiffer, more robust category of fabric footwear, attempting to be a viable three-season boot. They have the stiffest sole of any of the boots tested by quite a way. Although not quite the heaviest on test, they did feel heavy on the foot - a sense exacerbated by their stiffness. The tread pattern has very deep lugs that really improve grip in grimy fields and on hillsides.There is an excellent amount of padding throughout the entire top section, and particularly around the ankle and tongue.

While the boots are stiff, on hard ground the padding in the midsoles helps to smooth out the bumps and make walking on the road sections that bit easier.
