The Caracas GTX walking shoe is a flagship design by Meindl and the perfect lightweight partner for leisurely walks and everyday activities.
As a footwear brand internationally acclaimed for their quality, Meindl constructed the Caracas GTX from top quality Nubuck leather, providing a supple yet sturdy frame. Adorned with a GORE-TEX lining the Caracas GTX is waterproof and breathable, giving superb comfort and durability in wet weather conditions. Fitted with an Air-Active footbed to wick away moisture, the shoe stays ventilated and cool allowing for an enjoyable wear.
With over 300 years experience, Meindl have ensured the Caracas GTX is suitable for a variety of surfaces using the Urban walker sole by Vibram. Suitable for both city and countryside terrain, the Caracas GTX is an excellent choice for enjoying outdoor activities to the fullest.
Meindl Fitting Advice
Meindl is generally a wide-fitting brand, with our Comfort Fit range offering even more space for those who need it.
However, achieving the right fit is not just about length. The shape, width and overall volume of the boot must match your foot. The widest part of your foot should align with the widest part of the boot. If you feel the boot tapers too quickly at the front, you may benefit from a style with a rounder, more generous toe box.
A well-fitting boot should feel secure around the heel and midfoot, with enough room at the front for your toes to move freely without touching the end—particularly when walking downhill.
It’s also important to avoid excess volume in the upper. Too much space can lead to movement within the boot, causing creasing, reduced support, and discomfort over time.
For best results, try boots on with your usual walking socks and ensure they feel comfortable both standing and moving, as fit can change during use.

4 Stars: Okay only had them a fortnight and have had little use thus far but initially they seem extremely well made and of sturdy construction, are extremely comfortable. premium price but expect them to last longer than some rivals, bought them because have another pair of Meindl Burma or Borneo boots, would have given them 5 star but have not had them long enough.

Care Advice
Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.
