Product Description
The Dovre Extreme GTX field sports boot is a high cut boot designed ideally for hunting, but has been praised as a well serving all-rounder. The height of the boot makes it protective in muddy conditions and the rigidity gives excellent ankle support yet has enough flexibility to be comfortable straight out of the box. Made on the Meindl wide fitting last.
The uppers are made from Nubuck leather with a GORE-TEX lining providing a reliable, durable and waterproof frame. Equipped with an Air-Active footbed, the boot stays well ventilated and any unwanted moisture is wicked away in an instant.
Meindl prioritise comfort and have done so here using a Memory Foam System. A combination of foams create extra padding around areas of pressure and pinching and mold to the foot using body heat. This not only gives better support but a comfy, customised fit.
The Dovre Extreme MFS GTX is finished with a Meindl Multigriff sole by Vibram, offering outstanding traction on all terrain particularly in wet and muddy conditions.
Meindl Fitting Advice
Meindl is generally a wide-fitting brand, with our Comfort Fit range offering even more space for those who need it.
However, achieving the right fit is not just about length. The shape, width and overall volume of the boot must match your foot. The widest part of your foot should align with the widest part of the boot. If you feel the boot tapers too quickly at the front, you may benefit from a style with a rounder, more generous toe box.
A well-fitting boot should feel secure around the heel and midfoot, with enough room at the front for your toes to move freely without touching the end—particularly when walking downhill.
It’s also important to avoid excess volume in the upper. Too much space can lead to movement within the boot, causing creasing, reduced support, and discomfort over time.
For best results, try boots on with your usual walking socks and ensure they feel comfortable both standing and moving, as fit can change during use.

Truly the best boots I’ve ever owned. I’ve been using these every day for over 2 years now and I work in woodlands with no footpaths etc, so am wading streams, pushing through brash etc etc all day every day. Based on my average daily mileage, these have now done 7300 miles off road! Despite wading streams, standing in streams sometimes, and wearing them in snow sleet and rain, I’ve never had even the slightest bit of water come through. I have quite literally worn the insides through rather than the outsides. Previous boots I’ve bought for work (supposed “”hunters”” boots) last me about 2 weeks before letting water in, and maybe 6 months before they are wrecked. These boots are worth every penny and I recommend them to any professional.

Care Advice
Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.
