The Journey Pro mens wide fitting shoe by Meindl is part of the Comfort-Fit Wellness Sport range, perfect for those with wider feet.
With uppers made from a combination of lightweight mesh and Nubuck leather, the Journey Pro is durable and supportive with a modern sporty look. The GORE-TEX lining compliments this enhancing breathability and ensuring waterproof protection. The Air-Active Wellness Sport footbed goes one step ahead of other walking shoes, offering superb heel support and ensuring any unwanted moisture is wicked away in an instant.
Complete with a Meindl Comfort Sport sole, the Journey Pro gives excellent traction on a variety of surfaces alongside a smooth roll. The sole has been spruced up with a touch of Comfort-Fit, providing EVA cushioning in the midsole alongside a sharp heel edge to aid descending. The Journey Pro is perfect for light hiking, leisurely walks and everyday wear.

Meindl is generally a wide-fitting brand, with our Comfort Fit range offering even more space for those who need it.
However, achieving the right fit is not just about length. The shape, width and overall volume of the boot must match your foot. The widest part of your foot should align with the widest part of the boot. If you feel the boot tapers too quickly at the front, you may benefit from a style with a rounder, more generous toe box.
A well-fitting boot should feel secure around the heel and midfoot, with enough room at the front for your toes to move freely without touching the end—particularly when walking downhill.
It’s also important to avoid excess volume in the upper. Too much space can lead to movement within the boot, causing creasing, reduced support, and discomfort over time.
For best results, try boots on with your usual walking socks and ensure they feel comfortable both standing and moving, as fit can change during use.

4 Stars: A genuinely wide hiking shoe
I have real trouble finding wide fitting shoes. I am 4E to 6E width in the UK. These fit perfectly. If you have arch support issues: there is no arch support on the insole. However, there is a medial post on the outside which means your arches should not collapse inwards. I am used to wearing light trail/running shoes and these were just a bit too heavy for me. i think my feet would get tired quite quickly so I am waiting on some lighter Meindl shoes i have ordered.

Care Advice
Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion.
