Product Description
The Kansas GTX mens walking boot has been in production by Meindl for over 15 years. As trusted shoemakers since 1683, Meindl’s walking boots are always of the finest quality and reliability. In keeping with tradition, all of Meindl's footwear to this day are hand-crafted in the Bavarian factory by skilled professionals.
The 3 season Kansas GTX is made from waxed Nubuck leather uppers and a rubber toe-cap giving you protection across a wide variety of terrains. The boot includes various technologies to optimise your walking performance including, a GORE-TEX membrane for waterproofing, an Air-Active footbed to control moisture levels, a digafix lacing system for the perfect hold, and compression pads around the ankle to minimise pressure when hill-walking. In addition, the Kansas GTX walking boot is fitted with a double density rubber sole providing excellent traction and shock absorption. Categorised B by Meindl, the Kansas GTX is superb for hill-walking.
Meindl Fitting Advice
Meindl is generally a wide-fitting brand, with our Comfort Fit range offering even more space for those who need it.
However, achieving the right fit is not just about length. The shape, width and overall volume of the boot must match your foot. The widest part of your foot should align with the widest part of the boot. If you feel the boot tapers too quickly at the front, you may benefit from a style with a rounder, more generous toe box.
A well-fitting boot should feel secure around the heel and midfoot, with enough room at the front for your toes to move freely without touching the end—particularly when walking downhill.
It’s also important to avoid excess volume in the upper. Too much space can lead to movement within the boot, causing creasing, reduced support, and discomfort over time.
For best results, try boots on with your usual walking socks and ensure they feel comfortable both standing and moving, as fit can change during use.

All in all the Meindl Kansas GTXs are quality boots. They may not have the sex appeal of some other, trendier boots, but they offer great performance and comfort, and that’s what matters. The Meindl Kansas GTX boots offer great quality at a reasonable price.

Care Advice
Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.
Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion.
