Product Description
As part of the Comfort-Fit range, the Journey Mid GTX womens walking shoe is the ideal lightweight option for those requiring a wider fit than the standard shoe. Perfect for leisurely hikes, the uppers are made from Nubuck leather and mesh providing a durable yet breathable frame. Further enhancing this, the Journey Mid GTX features a GORE-TEX lining ensuring waterproof protection; reliable to keep your feet dry in all circumstances.
Meindl believe that comfort is of utmost priority, and so the Comfort-Fit range was introduced to do just that. With a wider fit at the front of the shoe, the Air-Active footbed provides more room for movement, particularly in the flex zone, whilst ensuring a snug, supportive hold of the heel. Not only does it wick away unwanted moisture build up, the footbed is contoured to the shape of the foot providing a shoe that is exceedingly comfortable for all day use.
The Meindl Comfort Sport sole is also high performing with excellent shock absorption and a good grip profile for when tracks get a little tricky.
Meindl Fitting Advice
Meindl is generally a wide-fitting brand, with our Comfort Fit range offering even more space for those who need it.
However, achieving the right fit is not just about length. The shape, width and overall volume of the boot must match your foot. The widest part of your foot should align with the widest part of the boot. If you feel the boot tapers too quickly at the front, you may benefit from a style with a rounder, more generous toe box.
A well-fitting boot should feel secure around the heel and midfoot, with enough room at the front for your toes to move freely without touching the end—particularly when walking downhill.
It’s also important to avoid excess volume in the upper. Too much space can lead to movement within the boot, causing creasing, reduced support, and discomfort over time.
For best results, try boots on with your usual walking socks and ensure they feel comfortable both standing and moving, as fit can change during use.

Great Meindl walking boots
Great walking boots, very comfortable due to the wide fitting, very stable over various terrain.

Fantastic boots. This is my second pair – one pair I use for walking on Dartmoor and the other for general wear, as they are good support for my badly damaged ankles. I haven’t used my new ones in the rain yet, but my hiking pair are very waterproof. Both boots are extremely comfortable – wide enough and deep enough to use with prescription insoles. In the past, I struggled to find a boot that fitted me and fulfilled my needs. Meindl is just wonderful.

Care Advice
Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion.
