Guffert GTX walking boot reviews
5 Stars: Rugged mountain walking boot. Wide comfort fit with high ankle support
Bought to replace previous Meindl boots, as Meindl still the best choice for wide fitting at toes. The Guffert gives the highest ankle support of any Meindl walking boot, so ideal for anyone like me with weak ankles. The cork insoles give good firm arch support. After a month of snow; slush and ice the GORE-TEX linings have kept my feet dry, and I’ve felt my ankles being saved from going over on a few occasions. Despite the high fit, the boots are comfortable to walk in.

Care Advice
Sportwax is a natural product formulated to condition and proof leather. Apply it with a sponge or cloth and don’t forget the tongues of the boots. Rub the wax in well. There’s no need to heat it, as this could reduce boot breathability. Waxing changes the appearance of the leather, making it smoother and darker. Applying a little to the hooks and eyelets also protects them against corrosion.
Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion
