In autumn 2025, consumer champion Which? surveyed more than 5,000 walkers about their footwear. Meindl was named a Which? Recommended Brand in both categories (walking boots and walking shoes); a rare double endorsement that highlights Meindl footwear’s comfort, durability and reliability.
Comfort was a standout strength in both categories. Meindl boots and shoes each received five stars for comfort and fit.
Which? noted that Meindl shoes are “breathable and flexible,” while boots are trusted for “reliable comfort.”
Meindl’s reputation for quality construction was reinforced in the survey. Boots and shoes both received five stars for durability.
Which? highlighted “high-quality materials” as a reason why Meindl earns long-term loyalty from walkers.
One customer summed it up simply:
“I have walked miles in them and in all weathers and they still look and feel brand new.”
For UK conditions, water resistance matters, and Meindl delivers. Boots scored five stars for water resistance, while shoes earned four stars, among the highest ratings in the test.
Which? confirmed that Meindl footwear keeps feet dry without sacrificing breathability, making them ideal for all-day wear.
Scoring 83% for boots and 82% for shoes, Meindl achieved the double accolade of Which? Recommended Brand.
Which? verdict on walking shoes: “A five-star experience.”
For boots, customers gave top marks across every tested category: comfort, durability, fit, grip and water resistance.
